Summit walk
The climb to the highest hill of Plovdiv is moderate – up stairs and alleys through the forest. Here is a practical route with landmarks so you do not get lost and return calmly.
Start at Lyuben Karavelov St
Begin at the pedestrian entrance on Lyuben Karavelov St, where the stairs start – the most direct way up.
Stairs and alleys
After the first stairs take the main alley winding through the forest. There are mid junctions – keep to the wider path towards the summit. The slope is moderate but steep in places.
Summit and view
At the top there are platforms with a panorama over the Old Town, the Ancient Theatre and the Rhodopes. Allow time for photos, especially at sunset from the west slope.
Return
Return by the same alley or an alternative path if you took one up. On the descent watch the stairs, especially after rain or at dusk.
